Forest Kinder Class Participation

Parent Participation

We ask all families to plan on spending some time supporting our school, teachers, and classrooms in the following ways:

  • Volunteer at school-wide and classroom events at least twice per year (will be communicated by Parent Community Coordinator.)

  • Help with on-site projects like trail and classroom maintenance, habitat restoration and seasonal cleanups as needed (will be communicated by Parent Community Coordinator.)

  • Prepare playdough and sensory bin supplies a few times a year for your classroom.

Student Participation

Each class has its own special Stuffie Sleepover Learning Share routine!

  • For older students, this may include having a weekend sleepover with a class stuffie and reading to them together, then bringing the book to school to narrate or read. Note they DO NOT need to be able to read the text, just talk through the story using the pictures.

  • For younger students, this may include having a weekend sleepover with a class stuffie and bringing in a printed photo/summary to share. Teachers will help them share their adventure with the class.

  • Some classes may do different activities based on interests/needs/class culture.
